I have a USB mouse that keeps "disconnecting" from the USB bus. At least that's what I suspect is happening. It keeps freezing for several seconds, and I have to wait until it feels like working again to do anything. This is a laptop, and the touchpad works fine. I found a web page that suggested disabling USB Legacy in the BIOS, which I did, but it makes no difference. Running Windows XP Pro, w/all the latest updates. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Is there another USB plug you can try? When plugged in, can you wiggle the connection? Blow into it and make sure there isn't any lint build-up

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
