Amd Athlon Xp 2700+ Showing Up As 2500+

i have a AMD Athlon XP 2700+ Thoroughbred 2.167GHz
Socket A Processor Model AXDA2700BOX
installed into a ASUS A7N8X-e deluxe motherboard and it showing up as
an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ 1.83Ghz. is there a way to correct this?

also what is the CPU External Freq. under Bios and how do i find out what it should be for this processor?




Motherboard: ASUS A7N8X-e deluxe bios 1013
Videocard: ATI all in wonder 8500dv 64mb
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2700+ Thoroughbred 2.167GHz Socket A Processor Model AXDA2700BOX
Ram: Kingston Value Ram KVR400 x64C3/512 2.5v
2 corsair 512mb xms3200 400mhz (CMX512 - 3200LLPT) twinx (dual channel) platinum series

cpu-z will tell the story, if you have the fsb set too low?

how do you set the FSB? do you do that in the bios?

I can't make heads or tails of yours, I did the math and your fsb is either 140+ or your multiplier is wrong

this is way too complicated for a newsgroup, you might try googling and studying up on that manual

i set the multiplier to 12x
12x166
and now it shows up as 2700+
