I would greatly appreeiate any help I can get. My BitDefender Total Security has detected TROJAN.PEED.GEN in my pc. It started as soon as I started to play the online game Quake 3 multiplayer. I have played this for yrs no problem. I got into the server and after 3 minutes PUNKBUSTER kicked me with the following: Restriction: service communication failure: Punkbustb.exe driver failure (punkbustrk.sys)FFAB.
after several tires I went to evenbalance to update punkbuster and trued to renter the game, but same problem kick. I ran my BD and found 545 infections, the day before none. It quaranteened these and i tried again with same message as first time, and a kick. I deleted quake 3 and reinstalled it. I started the game and BD opened up to tell me quake 3 has TROJAN.PEED.GEN virus. It quaranteened this and said I was safe, tried to enter the game and same virus found. Can anyone provide me with any direction short of reformating my hard drive? I was too flustered to think about my send home pc which was networked and now the same problem is there, so as they say .. I am dead in the water. Please help if you can.
Thanks Raymond

This is possibly a false positive. I was reading the BitDefender forum and it looks like 3 fixes are posible. Start at post 58.

Let us know if it works for you.
