ok so i was on the net and popups starting blasting me,
i followed up on this thread here:

i googled antispywareupdates because thats what was advertised in the popup and got there.
i followed up to using hijackthis and smitfraudex and stopped there because the rest of the steps strayed too far from my problems. So, here is my hijacklog BEFORE i started doing anything:

I thought I'd be fine after that because the popups and false system error messages and tray icons all disappeared. About 5 hours later, I started to get popups and error messages again but this time it was from a different source. I went on a rampage by downloading RegistryBoosterV2, SpeedUpMyPCV3.5, and SpyEraserV2. All are programs from Uniblue. I ran those through and found hundreds of infections in my windows folder and some in the registry. This all happened on 3/11/2008

This morning (3/12/2008), I turned on my laptop and it wasn't long before I got another popup and I reran the Uniblue programs followed by smitfraudex (in safe mode again)

and here is my current hijackthis log:

I'd repeatedly go into my C:\windows and sort everything by date modified and see a whole bunch of small (around 1 to 100kb files) .dll and .exe files randomly labeled and a bunch of suspicious-looking names which I tried deleting but kept reappearing. I only deleted all of the ones created on 3/11/2008.

I also noticed there were a bunch of small folders that also held .dll and .exe named with random jibberish in the Program Files folder.

Still gettin lotsa popups

I apologize for the very long delay. We have a huge backlog of HijackThis Logs to handle and it has been taking us greater time than normal to get caught up. If you are still having a problem, and want us to analyze your information, please post a brand new hijackthis log. If we do not hear back from you within a couple of days we will need to close your topic.

When posting your logs please post them directly into the reply. Do not attach them.

Also make sure you have already followed the steps outlined below:

Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log

Thank you for your patience.
