Everytime I try and open my harddrive local disk or my external - I get this error?

"Choose a program you want to use to open this file:"

and it gives me a list of programs, for example - you would normally get this if you were trying to open a Microsoft Excel document and I didn't have excel installed.

Anyone got any ideas?

Did you try selecting "take no action" and then trying it again?

It doesn't have that option?

Its not an auto play pop up, I actually go into MY computer click the drive and then it pops up with the message.

Try running chkdsk according to instructions for the Graphical Version.

XP Chkdsk, Using the Graphical Version (My Computer) - http://www.updatexp.com/windows-xp-chkdsk.html

Please follow the directions for the Graphical Version.

You are infected.Download a VB script from http://www.mygeekside.com/downloads/2007/1...irus_usb_en.vbs plug in all the pen drives and removable drives then run the script and let it scan.It will detect some viruses and remove them.DONOT open any program till a message says"mygeekside.com" FOR THE SECOND TIME.
