Two printers. HP 6122 and HP 940c
[Both pretty good worked ok for several years - not much actual printing though.
Today they both went on strike. Both turn on ok but when asked to print they go thru all the usual grinding but then blink the yellow out of ink or the low ink lights.
Problem is that both have new cartridges Have tried both HP and second source cartridges. Same results. Have printed for about a week an all eas ok. Today NOTHING!

Tried the "tape these contact points routine" = no good.
Tried putting the older cartridges (4days old) which were low but still functional = No Good.

Wierd that same thing happened to 2 different printers on 2 different cpu's at the same time . Not networked. Desktop Compac - windows XP Toshiba LaptopVista home premium.. (i see no particuliar adcantage to vista just fatter, moved common stuff around, new learning curve, needs more ram, ..etc. Also new profit line.)
I have 2 prns a box of ink cartridges and noe they all amount to several large door stops.
Any help would be appreciated.
