I am recently experiencing low sound on my lap top. Where the sound use to be fine now I can hardly hear anything. When I bring up YOU TUBE or media player CD's I can hardly hear. In the control panel the volume settings are on high. Nothing is checked for mute. I checked that. Don't know what to do. Thanks for any help This is frustrating

Is it all volume? Or is it only on youtube (flv) files?
Did you check off advanced audio settings in control panel?

Are these the onboard speakers? Can you try a set of remote speakers?

Thanks for your response. Its all volume Yes it's checked I don't hear anything with my headphones either. The sound used to be fine. This happened recently It doesn't matter what I'm doing there is no sound. I have no speakers. I recently downloaded a PC TOOLS ANTIVRUS program for free on line. But I don't know why that would effect anything. Maybe there is something else?

Just an addition to what i said. In the control panel where it says PLACE VOLUME ICON IN THE TASK BAR there is a check in the little box next to the statement. Also not sure what you mean check off advanced audio settings in control panel.

Open Device Manager and click on the +'s. Look for yellow exclamation points by audio and sound and tell us what you find
