Hi, my computer is running very slow at the moment and at times stops responding so Im constantly having to restart it. Im on dial up. I have just today uninstalled Adaware personal and AVG free version as they wouldnt allow me to download updates, I plan on reinstalling them today. I also ran a Spyware Doctor scan which detected trojans and dialers but wouldnt remove them unless I purchased. I hope Ive done the HJT Log right and I hope Ive given you enough information.

Hi Jango,

I'm sorry it's taken so long for you to get a response, if you still need help please do as follows:

If you have not already done so, please install an antivirus program immediately. Without antivirus software your computer is very vulnerable and can easily be infected at any time so it it is essential you have one active at all times.

If AVG is giving you trouble, you could try Antivir as an alternative:

But please only have one antivirus program installed at a time.

Please ensure you have one antivirus program installed before continuing

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop (right-click the link, select Save Target As..., select your Desktop and press Save)
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  • Make sure Format->Word Wrap is unchecked
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your reply
Once complete, please post both DSS logs, you won't need to produce a new HijackThis log as DSS produces one for you.

Hi silver, thanks heaps for the reply... the wait isnt a problem at all, I dont know how you guys keep up :thumbsup:

Im doing all of the above now but since its 10 PM here I probably wont post logs until tomorrow.
Everytime Ive tried to reinstall AVG it stops half way through the download with a message telling me invalid application (something like that), so Im downloading the Avira now.
