Hi,
I'm new to this forum, hope you folks can help me out here. The main issue is the now infamous se.dll. I've tried various fixes but it keeps spawning itself, can't delete if from the registry or using HijackThis even, it just pops right back up. Also have a pop-up problem. I've been using Mozilla Firefox to bypass some of the spyware associated with IE, but even now it still pops up as an IE window and ironically tries to get me to go to some spam spyware removal sites. And those stupid BHOs don't go away either. I've tried AdAware, Spybot, CWS and various virus checkers.

Thanks

Hi

Download SpSeHjfix_Beta8
Extract the file on your desktop. Run SpSeHjfix_Beta8.exe. Clean your computer. Your computer will reboot.
You will find on your desktop a log: SPSeHjFix.log.

Post that log and a new hijackthis log please.

Please disable Spybot Search & Destroy Teatimer. To do this right click on the Tea Timer icon in your taskbar at the lower right hand corner.
If the icon is not present then open Spybot Search & Destroy and switch to Advanced mode.
Click on Tools --> Resident --> uncheck Resident Tea Timer.

Then run again SpSeHjfix_Beta8.exe.

I went under Tools in Spybot advanced like you asked me to but there was no Resident subdirectory or any mention of Tea Timer. I unchecked a box that looks like the Spybot Resident icon that causes the program to launch every time I reboot, I hope that will do the trick. It has the Spybot icon and it just said Resident under it.

Here's the latest log, but it looks like some of these stubborn things popped right back up. Thanks again.

Disable TeaTimer before attempting any change with Hijack This: http://russelltexas.com/malware/teatimer.htm

Download System Security Suite here:
System Security Suite Download. Unzip it to your desktop. Install the program. Don't use it yet.

Please print or copy these instructions because you are not able to access the Internet in SafeMode.

Make sure you are set to show hidden files and folders:
A. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
B. Click the View tab.
C. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
D. Uncheck Hide extensions for known filetypes and Hide protected operating system files.
How to see hidden files in Windows

REBOOT into SafeMode by tapping F8 key repeatedly at bootup: Starting your computer in Safe mode

Run HijackThis!, press Scan, and put a check mark next to all these:

Hi Daisuke,
Thanx for all your help, here's the latest HT log. Looks like we cleaned out pretty much everything, you were right, teatimer was screwing up a bunch of things. Not sure what this line is though.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UserFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -u

Thanks again

Upon serious errors dumprep.exe will write the details to a text file and request the information be sent to Microsoft. The entry should be removed automatically the next time you reboot. You can fix the entru with HijackThis.
