I received the thePerfect Cleaner/Spy Away problem but was able to fix it following directions from SifuMike to LadyRae in the post she began on March 2, 2008.

I was able to run Smitfraudfix, which fixed my background, got rid of the fake Windows Security pop-ups, and stopped internet explorer from constantly bringing up the Spy Away/Perfect Cleaner page. The task manager is back to normal

AS FAR AS I KNOW, my friend was able to help me remove Webhancer, although we didn't follow the instructions word for word. I accidently used LSP-Fix out-of-order. I ended up using OTMoveIt2 to try and make sure and cover my tracks. I'm hoping that Webhancer is indeed gone.

My problem- Internet Explorer continues to start itself up and direct me to random sites. the one which i am directed to most often is the following:

https://beholdtrgts.com?cpc=28&popit=837465

I'm unsure what is causing my problem. Virus? Malware? Please help.

My computer seems completely back to normal aside from IE starting up on its own once every 3-5 minutes. *Note: It does not occur if I'm disconnected from the internet

I've followed the pre-post instructions and run multiple virus scanners and spyware detectors. Thank you ahead of time for any help that you may be able to provide

I will continue to post the URL's of the sites that IExplore is putting up. i don't know if this is necessary, but I am trying to provide the most information possible.

everytime i try to type in the follwong link, it gets changed. I have no idea what this is about.

instead of saying "s-m-a-b-l-e-e-p-s" it is supposed to say "s-m-a-s-h-i-t-s"

whenever i get done posting, by the time its on the forum, the true word in the link is changed to "smableeps"

http://ww.smableeps.com/adn-05.html

again, thank you.

I apologize for the very long delay. We have a huge backlog of HijackThis Logs to handle and it has been taking us greater time than normal to get caught up. If you are still having a problem, and want us to analyze your information, please post a brand new hijackthis log. If we do not hear back from you within a couple of days we will need to close your topic.

When posting your logs please post them directly into the reply. Do not attach them.

Also make sure you have already followed the steps outlined below:

Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log

Thank you for your patience.
