Hi to all,
I am running Windows Xp operating system in my own computer and since few days the process "svchost.exe" is attempting to send emails to remote smtp servers. I found it using tools like "netstat -ano" under the infected Windows Xp computer and "tcpdump" under the linux firewall / gateway behind the infected computer is located...
Doing a control with that network traffic analyzer i see that those emails are spam...
Actually I can't get rid of it with the steps followed in the preparation guide so I setted up a block on the linux firewall for every attempt to connect to a remote "port 25" from my infected computer...
In the while I tried few antivirus, spyware removal tools, but nothing happened... the fact occur when I restart the computer and randomly during the day...
I ask anyone on this forum to try to help me if they can, it will be really appreciated!

Hi all,
yesterday i was working on my problem and i started doing some manual cleaning of potentially infected things...
Since i deleted the Mozilla folder under C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Application Data I noticed that the problem seems solved... of course when i restarted Firefox it create that directory again, but everything seems ok...
Now I see many attempts to TCP connection made by the "System Idle Process" PID 0 and some ports bind by process "svchost.exe" and "lexbces.exe"...
Hope someone can make my things clean!
Thx
Gian Marco

Thanks!
