I haven't noticed anything weird lately, except occasionally I'll hear a song play through my speakers for like 2 seconds and then it stops. It's usually while I'm surfing the web, but I know it's not from the website I'm on because I go on it all the time and it never plays music. Just thought that was sorta weird. And, after running Hijack This, the very last entry looks sorta suspicious. Hijack This log is below, so help me out please .

Hello MetallicACDC and welcome to the BC HijackThis forum. I don't see any signs of viruses or other malware in the log. It is clean.

The last line is a service used by Windows Messenger so it is legitimate.

As for the music, that could be a bleedover form any number of things, either Internet related, application related or locally related (like a radio station bleedover). Taht would be an issue that can be brought up in the Windows XP Home and Professional forum since it is not related to malware.

Cheers.

Oh. I see. Well, thanks a ton. I just realized what the music thing is--Whenever someone signs on AIM, it will sometimes play like the first 2 seconds of a song, and when they sign out, it plays like a weird gunshot thing. I just got freaked out when it happened...lol

Well, again, thanks a ton. I'm just glad I'm not infected =)

You are very welcome MetallicACDC, I'm glad that we could help. It's usually something simple like that.

I will now close this topic. If you have any new malware related questions or issues in the future please start a new topic.

Cheers and Happy Computing !
