I have two identical computers. When I put the board in a new case I bought I get no sound, when I hook it back up to the old case I get sound. I have tried putting both boards in the new case and the same thing happens, no sound. When I put them back in the old case I have sound. The old case does not have front panel connectors. I'm not hooking up the front audio connectors to the board on the new case, and from what I have read so far, that does not matter. I am using the back audio hookups. I have double checked all the sound options, and bios to make sure nothing is getting changed during the swap. The board is hooked up properly as far as I can tell, it's not hitting the case or anything.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

On the new case, are all of the front panel wires on one long plug? If you're not using the front jacks at all I can't see whats causing the problem

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
