okay so we'll start off with, I've been with bp<dot>com for a while, used to be mojomidget but its been so long i forgot my pw and i had some life Changing things and have been out of the mix for a while.... anywho... i recently formatted my hd reinstalled windows xp home and have had a few problems.

1. wireless assistant wasn't reinstalled, nor wifi (driver downloaded and working properly now)
2.sound card not working properly
3. video card not working like its supposed to.

the puter is a laptop Compaq presario v6000 with amd sempron came with windows Media center.

compaq site wasn't really much help i got a few drivers that fixed a few things but I'm still stumped...
i just need help identifying what the hardware is. i can find the drivers. i know theres a way to do is... but I'm having a massive brain fart.

You can download EVEREST Free Edition 2.20 from http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
To benchmark your system and look for specific drivers withe the information presented. Or there is a much more comprehensive tool

thank you animal, everest worked like a charm found out exactly what i needed with a little help from the google monster of course.
