I am looking to but a new laptop just for work and internet with a budget of 400 and I am not worried about palying games etc.
I have been looking and found the following possibilities.
Dell Vostro - (quite heavy but good reviews)
Acer Aspire 5720
Advent 9515
Lenovo R61i

Acer looks good value for money but if anybody has advice it would be appreciated.

Regards

Paul

If your looking for something with no heavy options for internet and MS office than anything would do.

In my Opinion in laptop branding it goes as follows:

1.Sony vaoi
2.Toshiba
3. Asus
4.HP
Ect....

And of course Mac Apple but i never actually used an apple running windows to see how it performs.

I don't know about rank (depends of the actual specs) but any of those 4 would keep me happy

From a service point of view, I'm really starting to like Dell. Especially with the removable video card

I'm not real keen on Acer laptops - but they seem to work well despite the cheap price.
Dell's are also good.
Toshiba's are my favorite, but
I've just purchased a Lenovo tablet - and have seen many older Lenovo/IBM's that are still running strong after many years.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
