You have a CWS infection. Please download the CWShredder from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Next, please boot into safe mode and run it.

Please download, update and run (one at a time of course!) Spybot and Adaware. Fix whatever they suggest.

Also, run this pc through the Panda Scan Online virus scanner.

Next, reboot and post a fresh HijackThis log to this thread.

You still have the CWS infection showing.

Please do the following:

Download the program FindNFix from the following location:
http://freeatlast100.100free.com/

Once it is downloaded, double-click on the file to run it. Follow the prompts to install the program. Once it is installed a window will open up showing the installation directory and a bunch of files in the right section of the window.

On the right portion of the window look for the file called !LOG!.bat and double-click on it. It will scan through your computer for a while, so be patient. When it is completed it will automatically open a notepad window called Log.txt.

Copy the contents of that file into a reply to this post.

meeeeeee,

Still infected.........

I went to freeatlast100.100free.com/index.html....it said that the site is missing or has been deleted. I have done some searching and found a FindnFix executable at downloads.subratam.org/findnfix.exe. Should I download this file or is there another alternative that you recommend.

Once I have this exe should I run this again in safe mode like I did with CWShredder.

downloads.subratam.org/findnfix.exe is a wonderful link. See if you can download from there. Just run it in regular mode - it's the log it makes that i need to see.

The list will produce a small database of files that will match certain criteria.
You must know how to ID the file based on the filters provided in
the scan, as not all the files flagged are bad.
Ex: read only files, s/h files, last modified date. size, etc.
The filters provided should help narrow down the list, and hopefully
pinpoint the culprit.
Along with that, registry scan logged at the end should match the
corresponding file(s) listed.
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
Unless the file match the entire criteria, it should not be pointed to remove
without attempting to confirm it's nature!
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
At times there could be several (legit) files flagged, and/or duplicate culprit file(s)!
If in doubt, always search the file(s) and properties according to criteria!

The file(s) found should be moved to \FINDnFIX\"junkxxx" Subfolder

I am so sorry! My email notification seems to be buggy.

Well, that findnfix didn't show me anything, so we'll try something else. Could you post a fresh HijackThis log please? I promise to manually check back and not rely in email notification!!

meeeeeee,

Everything seems to be running well.

One question......The system upon boot up does prompt me with a statement stating that I have made recent changes to msconfig would I like to correct or fix these recent changes.

I know that we needed to run CWShredder in safe mode. I did check the safe mode button under the boot ini tab and then unclicked when I finished running CWS. I noticed though on the General tab that the selective boot up mode is checked.....Is this normal????

Can I select normal boot up and then re-boot.

Yes, select normal bootup and then reboot. Let me know if anything new pops up.
