I recently scanned with Hijackthis and removed some obvious autodialers and imbedded redirect lines. Could you see if there are any other things I should remove? Here is the logfile. I highlighted the one's I am not sure of. By the way, I keep norton firewall disabled, largely due to software conflicts. So I am not using it presently. Thank you.

Hello Happy01 and welcome to BleepingComputer.

Start HJT and click on the SCAN button. Put a check mark in front of the following line:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://srch-us4nb.hpwis.com/

With ALL OTHER WINDOWS CLOSED, click on Fix Checked.

You are using an outdated version of Hijackthis. Please download and install the newest version, v1.99.1, from this
HijackThis download site.

Post a fresh HJT log.

The log is clean Happy01.

If the Norton Firewall is giving you problems, at least try the firewall built in to WindowsXP. Upgrading to SP2 will give you an improved built in firewall.

Now that you are clean, please follow these steps in order to keep your computer safe and secure:

Thanks ddeerrff..

I avoided the firewall because I am often working on a LAN as well and understood that it would affect my ability to network. Maybe I need to review all the variables. I posted a HJT log from another computer on another thread. They pulled down alot of junk from some game sites that I removed but don't know if I got it all. If you can, maybe look at my other post? Thanks again!
