Hello all im new to the forums.

I have been google searching for a fix but not sure how to do it, so a step by step instruction would help me.

I came accross this site and the staff here seem really helpful. Anyway my problem,

My computer has started to go really slow lately. And started getting a lot of pop ups. I am using SuperAntiSpyware and Avast anti virus. They didn't pick anything up with ontime protection.

Then in my documents and cdrive i had about 1500 random TMP files which i deleted. I also got a fake "Help and supprt" and "Windows update" icons on my desktop.

I did a system restore and the icons have gone. The TMP files are still there so i deleted them. My computer still doesn't feel like its running to full potential.

I am currently running Symantecs Vundo fix as we speak.

I doubt it will work,

Anyone can point in me in the right direction to getting my computer clean and back to full speed?

Many thanks in advance,

-Gamezman

Hello,

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows including this one, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

O20 - Winlogon Notify: fccdbaw - fccdbaw.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: jvifyzns - jvifyzns.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: lknvrako - lknvrako.dll (file missing)

Lets run the tool for Vundo as Malwarebytes picked up some entries, lets make sure its all gone.

Download VundoFix to your desktop
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Post the Vundo report and a New HJT log please

Hello,

It looks like you have windows set for Selective Startup and HJT may not be showing everything.

Go to Start> Run> and type in msconfig and select OK and on the main tab select Normal Startup.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your desktop.
  • This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Under Main choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
Your system may start up slower after running ATF Cleaner, this is expected but will be back to normal after the first or second boot up

Post a new log and let me know how your system is running now?? Anymore popups ??
