I saved photos from web site to a memory stick (F drive). No problem. The next day while downloading pictures I got a message saying "unable to create this file" C:Windows\system32\mshtml.hlp file is missing. I was still able to save pictures to "my pictures" file but the F drive would not accept them. I did a search on my computer but this file was no where to be found. I did a "restore system to a previous date". But that did not help. I was able to resave previous downloaded to the F drive even though it was not accepting any recent downloaded pictures. Alexis22

From what I see, this appears to be an error resulting from file corruption. There seems to be no mshtml.hlp file.

I think I'd go with a repair of IE.

I tried repairing I.E. but it did not work. I noticed I am not getting that message (windows\system32\mshtml.hlp file is missing) anymore but when I try to save to the memory stick (F drive) it tries to save it but the hourglass will not stop working. Eventually I give up and try to close it down but I then get a message I send an error report.

I don't know anything about memory sticks (don't have one) but I would try a different USB port. If they are onboard ports, they can be fickle.

How did you try to repair IE? What version are you using?
Have you tried to visit Windows Update? A while back there was a critical update for this file (as I recall).
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

I finally got it fixed. I had to go to the maker of the memory stick. They told me to reformat the F drive from Fat to Fat 32. Before I did that I had to transfer almost all of what I had on there to my documents. When I reformatted everything was cleaned off. But it is now working properly. I am able to download photos from web site directly to that drive and to the folder I want them to be in. And I am now able to create new folders whereas before it would not let me. Thanks for all of your help. Alexis22
