I've recorded a bunch of TV shows in MPEG-2 format. I want to be able to burn them to a DVD+RW disk and play them in my DVD player (assuming the player can handle it, which I don't know yet). How do I do this?

Since I'm new at this I need a tool which is free, or at least free to try.
