HI there I posted this in the internal hardware section but no replies.......

I am putting a cd burner in a friends PC running win2k. The only problem is that it is only being seen as a CD-ROM. I can read off of it but it is not accessable if I try to burn to it.

I have read that win2k does not come with cd burner drivers installed but I know alot of you are still using burners on win2k PC's.

Could you please tell me the trick......... please.......

I'm running 2K and my DVD is correctly seen as a writer in addition to a reader. I think it's just a case of the wrong driver there. I would find out the make and then go to their website and DL the latest drivers for it (hopefully they have a 2k driver..) and see if that fixes the problem........

Also, it could be a writing software issue also. I was using some old software and it worked fine for CD writes, but didn't recognize my new DVD writer drive.
