Within the past few days I've started experiencing a problem scrolling. When I scroll up or down on a page my screen will go back a page or two. I've checked the settings for my mouse & find no setting that should make the mouse do this. I've also tried re-booting. It's an HP PS2 wired optical mouse with just the standard right & left buttons & scroll wheel. There are no drivers for this mouse.....it's just plug & go. Can anyone help with this problem?

Do you have Intellipoint or SetPoint software installed? Does the scroll wheel have the ability to "click"? In my case, I use the click function on the scroll wheel as my "back" button - and scroll as normal. If I get a bit too fast with the scrolling the "back" will kick in on me.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

I do not have that software installed now.....did at one time. The wheel is clickable but I am not clicking it by accident as a scroll...it happens even when I scroll slowly.

An update: Seems to mostly happen when I scroll up rather than down.
