I have just recently had this laptop serviced for malware and the battery life says it is at 3% when plugged into AC power. The laptop keeps shutting itself off and the battery does not stay charged. If anyone has a suggestion it would be greatly appreciated.

I would first suspect the AC Adapter or the plug that it plugs into in the case. Use a multimeter to ensure that the AC Adapter is putting out the right amount of current. Gently wiggle the plug where it fits into the case - does it feel loose?

If the AC Adapter isn't putting out the proper current, then you'll need to replace it. If it's the plug in the case, then you'll likely need a professional to disassemble the case and re-solder the plug into place.
