When I try to start my comp. in safe mode I get an "input not supported" box floating around the screen. The hard drive sounds as if it still loading but I never am able to really tell.It starts fine normally but I'm having printer problems and need safe mode to correct them i.e. deleting everything and reinstalling.Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.I'm running XP SP2 with all updates.I have a Dell Dimension 4700 with an Acer monitor.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with your screen resolution. While this box is floating around, can you still see your icons and stuff? or is the box floating around a blank screen

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

It's on a blank screen.I also switched my USB kb and mouse to wired ones hoping that would help but it didn't.I am using a 19' widescreen Acer and thought of going back to my Dell 17".Think that might help? Also thanks for replying back.

I tried reducing resolution to 800x600 and still got the floating message.I'm going to change kb,mouse and monitor tomorrow and try again.
