Not sure how I got this trojan/virus, I think my wife opened an spam email, but she is not sure. We then got a red desktop screen saying your computer is infected (it changed our desktop) and then got these fake icons on our desktop for spyware removal, simular icons that we did not install appeared in our explorer toolbar. Our Firefox toolbar did not show the icons, so I am thinking that it targets Explorer. My Norton Anit Virus does not detect it. We also got Explorer pages popping up directing us fake spyware removal sites. I then got a message saying that my computer was infected with: worm.win32.net.sky .My Yahoo Ant Spy says I have the "ZLOB AM" downloader trojan, but the Yahoo Anti Spy cannot remove it, it says it does, but does not. Ad-ware also has not been able to detect or remove this stuff. My Norton Anti-Virus also has had repeated attempts to change my Home Page and my PC keeps trying to connect to www.directnameservice.com I have removed some files via HiJackThis, but did not want to proceed any further for fear of deleting files my PC needs,it appears that the problem remains. Help !!! ....Thanks BigJess

Hello BigJess,

Welcome to the Bleeping Computer Malware Removal Forum, sorry about the delay, but the amount of people posting with infected computers is through the roof and sometimes we can't get to logs as fast as we would like to. If you have not resolved your issue and still need assistance, post a new HJT log please as your system may have changed since your original post.

Ken
