I cannot update XP via the windows update site.
It acts as if everything is going smoothly.
They download & when they begin to install they all (88) fail with no error codes.
When I go to reboot often there is a shield on the turn off computer.
When you mouse over it it states to shut down so updates can install. so I click on shut down,
it then says installing updates please do not turn off the computer until they are done.
Then it starts "...installing 1 of 88"
& then immediately turns off?

Have you recently done a repair install of Windows?
You'll notice some updates need to be installed by themselves. Try doing just a few at a time and see what happens

I've tried several individually to no avail.
Do you know of any specifically I should try alone?
