Hello anyone,
I have a Logitech LX7 optical mouse (cordless) and cannot right click on any of the desk top icons without freezing up the computer. I am running XP Pro. I can right click in the desktop tray and anywhere else and it works just fine. I have tried uninstalling (3) times and two other optical mice and one old corded mouse....still will not work. Can anyone help me?

I am a little confused because it freezes up your computer. Are you saying it does not matter which mouse you use because ALL of them respond the exact same way? Or are there differences?

Could it be that 'Right clicking on desktop' has been disabled as described here:

Albert Frankenstein,

Yes, all of them respond the exact same way. I have never changed anything in my registry and am a little leary of going there.
I went to the link that you suggested.....but really don't know what I am looking at. I am not computer stupid, but I am not computer "let's change the registry" smart.

Well, if it happens with all of the mice, then it is not mouse related. I think it may be time to examine whether you are infected or not, because the issue you describe could be related to your computer being infected. Please follow the instructions found here:
