Please help! I have followed each of the steps in your "before posting a hijack log file" guide, and have tried SmitfraudFix and other things as well. I still have a hijacked browser. To be honest, I have very little experience with computer problems. Before I do more damage than good, could someone please take a look at my HijackThis log and advise me? The infection, or whatever it may, be seems to be escalating. I have copied the URL's that most frequently redirect my browser. They are:

//ads.aedgency.com/ebay/007/?&SID=N03QUSI2Z-FCqRSL1AYC&login=672125&mediaid_prefix=005&asked_billing_id=2&time=312e3230362e31

.
I've also included an attachment of the logfile inserted bleow

Hello jawyllie82 and welcome to BleepingComputer!

Apollogies for the delay. The forum has been very busy lately. Bumping your topic is considered rude and actually works against you, as you are falling "off the ladder" within our tools and measures to keep track of open logs.

If you are still having problems please post a brand new HijackThis log as a reply to this topic. Before posting the log, please make sure you follow all the steps found in this topic: Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log.

Please also post the problems you are having.

Thanks,

Johannes

Thanks so much for replying!
I am still having the problem which is as follows: When I sign into a particular user account on my computer and open a browser I have unsolicited tabs open. Something like logintracker flashes across the address and then I am sent onto one of a variety of different offers for everything from browser security to porn. The other day, I had a very explicit pop-up open on my computer in front of my three year old. Two of the URL's that I've copied for the sake of analysis are:

hxxp://em.pc-on-internet.com/eas?cu=513&am...5&extparam=
1:oryWhcg-SkKAeiCEFUt9Rw&asked_billing_id=2&time=312e3230362e31&nums=
N03QUSI2Z
hxxp://fp.pc-on-internet.com/sws/039/?&...eAJe&login=
672125&mediaid_prefix=005&asked_billing_id=2&time=312e3230362e31

I have attempted to correct the problem with the following in addition what's designated in the prep guide:

CCleaner
ATF Cleaner
ESET Nod32 Online Scanner
eTrust Antivirus Web Scanner
AVG Anti-Spyware Free
Trojan Hunter Trial
A-squared Antimalware
Microtrend Housecall
Spybot Search and Destroy
Kapersky Antivirus
Ad-Aware
SpywareDoctor
MaCafee MCPR Cleanup
Smitfraud
Spyware Blaster
EnhanceMyVista
BAKU
WinPatrol
Windows Defender

I have reviewed and checked any suspicious programs in the add/remove window, and I have disabled all start-up programs to see if the problem was here as well. Also, I have implemented the use of the hosts file to block unwanted URL's. It seems impossible to believe, but I still have the problem.

As per your request, here is the latest HJT log:

Hi Jane,

For other users safety , who will be viewing this thread , please do not post live links , just disable any links by putting a "hxxp://" instead of http or by doing it this way: http://em.pc-on-internet.com/eas?cu=513&login=672125&mediaid_prefix=005&extparam=. Thanks.

I have disabled all start-up programs to see if the problem was here as well.

This is good to know. I will need to look into this, but you may not enable the startups yourself as this could make the infection worse. There are other methods to view this and I will ask you to do accordingly when the time comes.

Please note that comments are made in green, links are in red, important things are outlined by using the blue color and the numbered steps I would like you to follow are outlined with orange.

Please also take note of the following:
  • I will start working on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine
  • The process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
Step #1

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. A malicious site could render Java content under older, vulnerable versions of Sun's software if the user has not removed them. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) and save it to your desktop.
  • Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 5...allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Select your Plattform: "Windows".
  • Select your Language: "English".
  • Read the License Agreement and then check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • Click "Continue".
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save the file to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u5-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.
Step #2

Run HijackThis, press Scan, and put a check mark next to all these entries:

O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-21-2070793376-596459402-4190543892-1000\..\Run: [jabjcdc] c:\users\jawyllie\appdata\local\jabjcdc.exe jabjcdc (User 'jawyllie')

Step #3

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  • Close ALL applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt to your post.
The logs can be quite lengthy..use two post if you need to get them all in.
Close all other windows and browsers, and press the Fix Checked button.

Step #4

Please post back with the main.txt and the extra.txt from the DSS. Thanks.

Hi Johannes,

Here is the log. I must tell you, I had HJT fix that one item prior to closing all programs and running the scan with DSS. Do I need to do something to undo this?

In the event that all is well, here is the main.txt and extra.txt files (with all the live links altered--sorry, I am new to so much of this).
