I hope I am making this post correctly. I am trying to get my desk top at home working properly. It has no sound. When I pull up the start menu, go to settings, then control panels and sound it says I have no audio device. I know my computer did have sound at one time. I am working on Windows XP, a HP Pavillon 511 n. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you have a CD with drivers on it?

Do you know how to install drivers?

Update Those Drivers - http://www.cyberwalker.net/columns/aug00/310800.html

I just checked the HP website and they don't reflect any drivers for your system.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't find the driver. Perhaps using SIW will reveal the chip maker and you can download it elsewhere

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
