I'd try the uninstall/reinstall routine (just from force of habit).

I can't find anything at the Panasonic website for such printer.

A bail error should be an indication that either there's some sort of obstruction...or it's mechanically in trouble.

Maybe it's time for a new printer...I can't say that based on what you've stated so far...but if it's not working (with no clue as to why) and it's relatively old and 2 months downtime is incurred to repair it...seems to me that it's worth considering.

The bail is some type of part in the printer. I couldn't find an easy to understand explanation of what it is exactly, but it has something to do with aligning the paper (at least that was my take on what I read). I agree with hamluis, it might be time for a new printer-which might be more cost-effective than a repair, which would include the shipping charges.

You are correct in your assumption. Finding and purchasing parts is a bit of a chore. You're better off buying a new one

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
