Decrypting Ntfs Encrypted Files . . .

THE PROBLEM:

1- My frnd has formatted his c:\.
2- reinstalled windows.
3- now all his files on drive d:\ cant be decrypted . . . [previously encrypted as ntfs partition allowed]

he forgot to export the certificates and the key....

any solution ??

Does it say "Access Denied" when you try to access a file?

Perhaps he needs to change the ownership of the files.

yes. i get 'Access denied' message while opening an MsWord document. i did try your suggestion (changing the ownership) but nothing happened. (i think this method works when we make our files 'privite'. but here the files are encrypted as ntfs allowed). thank you anyway. plz give some other suggestion.
