At Start type in "perfmon /report" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
It'll give you all sorts of information about the system and any problems that it detects.

FWIW - you can also get to it by going to: Start...Control Panel...System and Maintenance...Performance Information and Tools...Advanced Tools...Generate a System Health Report

There's lot's of other good stuff located in Advanced Tools (such as the Performance Details portion of Event Viewer).

Great! My system is OK. It told me to increase the free space on my Pagefile drive, which I did - and still indicates that I've got a USB problem (the only USB device I've got is a W-D external hard drive). I'll be researching that to see what I can do!

I'm running an external drive as well but it didn't pose a problem. Is your printer a USB connection?

Printer? I'm supposed to have a printer? (just kidding!)

No, don't have a printer - just the lone USB hard drive. I'll get around to finding the issue later on, but everything's working OK now - so why mess with success?
