I have an acer 5315-2153 laptop with windows vista basic. 1 GB DDR2- 80 GB HDD DVD/CD-RW Combo

I was working on burning music to cd's when it just quit reconizing them. When I shut the drive it boots up and I hear the cd spinning but then nothing happens. It worked great up until this.

I have taken the following steps:
1. Have cleaned the eye with alcohol very gently and didn't circle. I just simply taped the eye and let it dry.
2. I unistalled the dvd drive numerous times and restarted my computer (they told me this might take care of it, it would reconize it upon starting up, and it did each time, it still didn't work!)
3. I went to Microsoft.com and entered article-KB314060 and it told me to download a program to help, and I did that. Then, when I went back to find the program, I didn't see it.

Now, when I go to control panel-hardware-device manager-dvd drive and I click twice on it this error comes up:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

I clicked on check for solutions and again nothing happened.

Also, there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point (the error icon) over the dvd drive's name in the device manager: optiarc cd-rw crx880a ata device.

I hope that I have given you enough information. I am just so clueless as to what I should do next. Thank you for any help you can give me
Thank you,
Betty A. Feller
