Like everyone else I get the occassional "I know where there is $20 million and you can have 20%" emails. They generally end up binned unread where they belong.

BUT today I got a mail that wasn,t so usual and read it (via Yahoo). I print it for you to understand how much I would like to take this person or persons necks and make one of those little sausage dogs out of them like clowns do with ballooons at childrens parties. Isn't there some way the "Brains" of this world can find and remove these sick, pathetic, leeches???

Dear Friend,

As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for me, because, I
believe everyone will die someday. My name is Peter Walters a merchant
in Dubai, in the U.A.E.I have been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer .
It has defiled all forms of medical treatment, and right now I have
only about a few months to live, according to medical experts. I have
not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for
anyone(not even myself)but my business.
Though I am very rich, I was never generous, I was always hostile to
people and only focused on my business as that was the only thing I
cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life
than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world. I believe
when God gives me a second chance to come to this world I would live my
life a different way from how I have lived it.
Now that God has called me, I have willed and given most of my property
and assets to my immediate and extended family members as well as a few
close friends. I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul so, I
have decided to give also to charity organizations, as I want this to
be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed
money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E, Algeria and Malaysia.
Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself
anymore. I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts
and distribute the money which I have there to charity organization in
Bulgaria and Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to themselves.
Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended
with what I have left for them. The last of my money which no one knows
of is the huge cash deposit of eighteen million dollars $18,000,000,00
that I have with a finance/Security Company abroad. I will want you to
help me collect this deposit and dispatched it to Tsurnami Victims,
World Aid Orgarnization in Ethopia charity organizations.
I have set aside 20% for you and some expences that may incure during
the proccess of these transaction. God be with you.Pls reply me via
(firms123@netscape.net)

Best Regards,

Peter Walters.

Frankly I wish him or her a plague of every virus ever invented by man or nature.

Ummm... SMF I haven't seen one of these E-Mails ever. this E-mail isn't telling you to go to some site that will fill you with baddies. (Adware,Spyware,Malware,Scumware,Viruses) nor is it telling you to "give money to make money". frankly i see nothing to be Complaining about this E-mail if you don't want it Just delete it. IMO

I am running under the assumption that your yahoo account is your secondary, or as i call it "bleep account" for when you need to enter a valid e-mail addy or just want to keep your main e-mail as clean as possible. If this is so, than i'd say it's just one of those random things that will always pop in your e-mail and don't sweat it. The internet is a P.T. Barnum paradise, because you can fool some of the people some of the time. Getting annoyed by this is only going to raise your blood pressure. I'd delete it and let it ride, either some poor unsuspecting person will get bit, or the sender will get tagged.

If you reply to this email they will ask for your credit card info, bank info etc and eventually want you to put up some money. This is a classic "Nigerian Letter" that people fall for all the time. Why? Greed.

This email is pathetic. All I can say is "what goes around, comes around".
I have an Excite email account that I keep for registrations and such. My main email account is restricted (Thank you, Hotmail!) and I get NOTHING there but emails from those who are on my contact list. Excite and Yahoo leave a lot to be desired when it comes to 'fighting Spam'. They are a joke. Besides, NEVER open or read anything that isn't from someone you know. Staying alert with the latest 'hook, line, and sinker -email method' will also help. And as soon as you open it, they got you. The emails will come full force now.
Is there a way to stop the insanity? No. We must live with it, ignore it, delete it, and move on.

Leurgy: Now I'm worried.....are you telling me that my money from Nigeria won't be coming? Now that you mention it, there have been no large deposits made to my account, but there have been numerous mysterious withdrawals. I'd better look into this situation.

Well to a point everyone is right!!!

I just wanted to advertise the fact that the "Classic Nigerian Letter" has sunk to new lows of depravity.

It goes without saying that most "In Sync" people wouldn't fall for this rubbish, but the words of this letter are designed to touch the hearts of those more naive and sensitive.

Claiming approaching death and wanting to help the Tsunami victims is just enough to get some of the older people, who are just coming to terms with using computers to respond, provide their bank account details (all in the best of intension's) and then find they are looking at empty bank accounts withing two weeks.

SO I HAVE DECIDED TO FIGHT BACK

Dear Friends

Please send me your Bank Account details, Credit Card numbers and PIN's. I will then withdraw just 1 $ or euro or £ (I PROMISE)

Then I will write a small program, which I will make available to you for free, that will trace the true sender of spam, junk mail, malaware, spyware, begging letters or anything you desire. This program will then attache itself to the offending hardware, causing it to run at x30 normal speed, resulting in an explosive meltdown.

I make this offer to you in the most sincere and honest way. I am already a billionaire, and this is my gesture to mankind before I shake of my mortal coils.
Please feel free to make additional donations to help me rid this world of all things unpleasant on the WWW.

Please send donations to. HolidayFund@ripoffnet.com

With Humble solicitations

I don't lose sleep or anything over it, but some how it seems to me that the brains and technology exists to track down and eradicate the perpetrators of this sickness

Call me jaded but I don't think con artists have ever found a hole too low to wallow in. Re the classic con of Bible selling rip-offs.

What gets me is where any money wrested from the gullible might end up in this one. Isn't UAE about half way between Nigeria and Afganistan? Er, guess it's a lot closer to Afganistan.

well well i got my first & second dose of one of these kinds of E-Mail at work. (i have to filter the e-mails sent in.)

Email 1
From: Mr. Kunle Bakare [mailto:k_bakare001@yahoo.com]
Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2005 5:37 AM
To: Real Estate Group
Subject: Attn:Ted E. Ackmann

Dear Ted E. Ackmann,

I am Kunle Bakare, the account officer to Martin
Ackmann,
who used to work with Pan Ocean Oil Corporation in
Nigeria. On the 21st of December 2003, Martin, his
wife and two sons were involved in a car accident
along Opobo road. All occupants of the vehicle
unfortunately lost their lives. Since then I have made
several enquiries to locate any of my clients extended
relatives, but this has proved unsuccessful. After
several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to track his
last name over the Internet, to locate any member of
his family hence I contacted you.

You are requested to assist in repatriating the money
left behind by my client. This is in an account
deposit with the Commercial Bank Of Africa containing
the sum $15million dollars. It is important that a
probable next of kin claims this fund within the next
fourteen official working days, failing which it would
be sent to the coffers of the federal government. This
is in consonance with the stipulations of the enabling
laws governing foreign inheritance.

I seek your consent to present you as the next of kin
of the deceased since you have the same last name.
This would facilitate the payment of the proceeds of
the said account to you. All I require is your honest
cooperation to enable us see this deal through. I
guarantee that this will be executed under a
legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any
breach of the law.

Please let me know what you intend to have as your
commission if you agree to embark on this venture.

Best Regards,

Mr. Kunle Bakare.

Dear Brian R. Goetz,

I am Kunle Bakare, the account officer to Martin Goetz,

Notes:
Isn't it Funny how Martin Ackmann and Martin Goetz both died on Dec. 21, 2003, on the same road, and both worked with Pan Ocean Oil Corporation in Nigeria, also both had a wife and 2 sons in the car with them and both just so happened to have $15Million in Commercial Bank Of Africa its just completely uncanny!
