I use Mozilla Firefox 95%of the time for browsing on my PC but also have IE7 for Windows updates etc. Due to a problem I had with the new update of Comodo Firewall my account became unstable. My daughter shares this machine with me and after checking I found her account to be ok and opened a new account for myself and transferred all my files, bookmarks etc over to the new account. After I was satisfied everything was working fine I deleted the old account.

I use Comodo Firewall Pro, Avira Antivirus and Spyware Blaster as real time protection and use SuperAntiSpyware and AVGAntiSpyware as on demand scanners. I went through them all individually, updating them and checking they were set up correct in my new account. When I updated SuperAntiSpyware I also got a message telling me that it now could guard against my home page being hijacked and thinking this was a good idea I okayed it. In the box that came up I chose "about blank" as that has been what I use and also set "Google" as my first choice search agent. The program set this as my home page and as I very rarely use IE7 I thought no more about it.

I opened IE7 this morning and the page is full of warnings on google about getting rid of some malware called about blank I have scanned my machine and everything is clean, it is working perfectly and this is why I posted this here rather than the malware section. I think this has more to do with changing my home page and wondered if anyone could shed light on the matter?.

what you have written does make sense to/for me

unless I am reading this completey wrong,Superantispyware is doing its job OF flagging up what IT perceives to be a major infection on your machine ; I personally would NOT request my home page to be 'about blank'
I think it is ' seeing 'THIS
http://www.pchell.com/support/aboutblank.shtml

( linked from a google search on the infection About Blank, homepage hijacker) http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q...arch&meta=)

try making your homepage to maybe google?
and see again the superantispyware flag IT up as a??legitimate home page change
