Posted 15 February 2008 - 07:20 PM

The last several days (about two weeks now) my computer has been acting strange.

The hard drive seems to want to keep running, and when I type, the cursor will hesitate then catch up to where I am typing.

I have an HP 6649F running Windows 98se (yes I know I need to upgrade and will do so when the budget allows)

Can some one check the HJT log to see if there is something in there that doesn't belong and may be causing my issue?

Thanks!

Hello yooper

Welcome to BleepingComputer
=======================
I see nothing in your log to point to malware but as a final check

Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report

Please do not pm for help, post it in the forums instead.

If I am helping you and have not responded for 48 hours please send me a pm as I don't always get notifications.

My help is always free, however, if you would like to make a donation to me for the help I have provided please click here Posted Image
