I have something weird happening with my system. I am running XP Pro on a Dell PC. Spybot Search & Destroy, Spysweeper and AVG Anti-Virus show no issues. I scan with these 3 daily via Scheduled Tasks. In the last few weeks, several of my user profiles lose their background images, the link to their Itunes library and their My Documents link with no notice (and the PC slows down). If I reboot the PC they come back but they eventually get lost again. Can't tell if I am infected with something or if their is a registry issue, etc. I tried doing a system restore 4 days back and it fixed it temporarily but the users info keeps getting lost.

Any ideas?

I would first try these free, online scans:

http://safety.live.com (requires IE)
http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Just used this one today and I like it also:

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
