Upgraded to XP (after a LOT of time, confusion, errors and virus removals) but my DVD/CD ROM is no longer worker. Microsoft says it's compatible but I tried to find updated driver on Microsoft and Hitachi with no success. Any suggestions?

I checked several sites, but also found no drivers listed. A few questions: Does XP see the drive in device manager at all? Do you have multiple hard drives in this computer? What was the dvd drive's old drive letter?

There is a second link on their page for DOS DVD-ROM Device Drivers (Models: GD-2000, 2500, 3000, 5000, 7000, 7500, 8000)

Yes, my system is recongnizing the device. It just won't run or read any CDs and it was working before I started this whole upgrade episode. I'll try the driver link provided in the second reply. Thank you both very much.
