Each person in the family has a log on in XP Home.

When programs are installed, they put short cuts on all the desktops. I wanted to delete them from the kids desktops. I know where the desktop is on the computer, but I can't access these files to delete them.

Anyone got any ideas?

Do you want to restrict their ability to access the programs or just delete the shortcuts from the desktop?

To get rid of the icons:

Right click on the desktop icon, and select Delete.
It'll send the shortcut to the Recycle Bin, and remove it from their desktop folder.

Arr but it doesn't!

Actually I've discovered the problem. The files were in the "All Users" Desktop folder. When I went there and deleted them - bingo.

Thanks tho'
