HI-
this is the first time I am posting to this forum and hope I am doing it right.
My kids werew on the pc and told me they started to get pops. I ran Spybot- which found 6 files and deleted those then I ran Adware and it found 1 file, deleted it and I am still getting popups. I ran Housecall scan and it found the Troj_DLoader.egf and said it was unable to clean it, then I selected the option to delete it and it still could not delete it.
Also, I receive the Zonealarm alert that" mrofinu72.exe" is trying to access the internet and I deny access.
When I shut down I receive a pop up that a file is not responding- I was able to get part of the file name before it cleared from the screen- it started B187xe1g..exe.
Can someone please help clear these problems?
Thank you in advance for any assistance..it is very much appreciated..

Hi cubz
I see that you have also posted this problem here:
http://forums.techguy.org/malware-removal-...able-clean.html
If you have not received help yet and want to continue here please post back a new Hjt log.
You should only be helped at one forum.
Please let me know one way or another.
Thanks

Thank you for responding. I have not received help as of yet. I ened up doing a system restore but I think which has helped get rid of the virus. But I am still getting ZoneAlarm pop ups saying qdrmodule is trying to access the internet. I did not install this qdr thing so if you would please take a look at the new HJT log below and let me know if there are problems that still need to be address I would be very grateful. ( I have not upgraded to SP2 as the HP printer I have I cannot locate the drivers for compatability with SP2. Its an hp1215.)

thank you very much...
one other item I notice is when logging off
(each of the 4 ids) I receive a "the program is not respoding..end now.. and the program name on the end now starts app18k...that's all I make out as it flashes too quickly. Not sure if that helps or not ...
Thanks again for your help..

Hi cubz

Ok, i see why you haven't upgraded to SP2 yet.... but to be honest, you are sacrificing your computer security for the sake of a printer!.
If it works with Windows xp.... it should still work with SP2.
But we'll leave this for awhile as we need to get you clean before you can even consider upgrading to SP2.

Step 1
I see that you have SuperantiSpyware installed.
Please update the definitions now.
We'll run the program later on.

Step 2
Make sure that you can see hidden files.
  • Click Start.
  • Click My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View Tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known file types.
  • Click OK.
Step 3
Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these items.
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {EA756889-2338-43DB-8F07-D1CA6FB9C90D} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: BndBlock5 BHO Class - {82EA1A55-9CBC-404b-9D0C-E8BFB7EAAE9B} - C:\Program Files\QdrDrive\QdrDrive10.dll
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [QdrModule12] "C:\Program Files\QdrModule\QdrModule12.exe"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [xInsIDE] C:\Program Files\xInsIDE\xInsIDE.exe
O18 - Filter hijack: text/html - {07851C6A-1C43-41d9-8319-BC89154A8C00} - C:\Program Files\RcvSystem\httpdchk.dll

Optional
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask .exe" -atboottime
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE

These programs need not run at startup as they can be run manually if needed.

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
Did you set this policy yourself? - This means you cannot change anything in the IE control Panel.
If you didn't set this, you can remove it.

Then close all other windows, browers etc--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

Step 4
Now please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

* Restart your computer
* After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
* Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
you will have to use the 'keyboard arrow keys' to navigate this menu.
* Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press the "Enter" key.
* Now choose your usual account.

Now navigate to these folders...... right click on these folders and select Delete.. only the folders in bold.
C:\Program Files\QdrModule
C:\Program Files\xInsIDE
C:\Program Files\QdrDrive
C:\Program Files\RcvSystem

Step 5
Whilst still in Safe Mode
Scan with SuperantiSpyware.
  • On the main screen, under "Scan for Harmful Software" click Scan your computer.
  • On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive.
  • On the right, under "Complete Scan", choose Perform Complete Scan.
  • Click "Next" to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
  • After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK".
  • Make sure everything has a checkmark next to it and click "Next".
  • A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu.
  • If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes".
  • To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.[list]
  • Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
  • Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
  • If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor.
  • Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
Click Close to exit the program.

In your next reply, please submit:
SuperantiSpyware scan log
and a new HJT log.
Also let me know how things are running now.

Thanks.

Ok, completed all steps and deleted all you had listed for HJT- including the IE control panel- I did not set that so I removed it. The logs are listed below from SAntispyware and new HJT log. It is running ok so far.

Hi cubz

I see a couple of lines have surfaced again, let's try something else and see what's still in there.

Step 1
Please disable AVG AntiSpyware Guard, it can interfere with our fixes.

* Launch AVG Anti-Spyware.
* From the "Status" menu, select "Change state" to inactivate 'Resident Shield' and 'Automatic Updates'.
* Then right click on AVG Anti-Spyware in the system tray and uncheck "Start with Windows".

Step 2
Please download ComboFix

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

There are full instructions on how to download and run ComboFix here:
How to use ComboFix
Please follow all the instructions to the letter...(this is very important)

When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. This may cause it to stall

So in your next reply, please submit:
ComboFix.txt
and a new HJT log.

Thanks.

HI Starbuck,

The AVG is disabled- I downloaded combo fix. but I wanted to check with you in regard to the recovery console portion...I already have the recovery console option when I start up- do I have to "re-do" this step or is what is in place ok? I can run combo fix tomorrow night as I cannot tonight, ok.?

Hi cubz

If the Recovery Console is already installed, that's fine.
It is already installed on some systems.... but not all. That's why we ask you to check.

Hi cubz

Before we continue i need you to do something for me:
Download this tool.
and save it your desktop.

1. Double click on MGADiag.exe to run it.
2. Click Continue.
3. The program will run. It takes a while to finish the diagnosis, please be patient.
Please post the results as a reply to this thread.

Once i get these results, i can continue.
Thanks.

HI Starbuck,
I download MGDiag.exe to the desktop. closed everything and double clicked to run it. It gave me the option of "continue" which I clicked on - then about a minute later the window flickered and it has the MGA Diag Tools title and tabs of About,Windows(which it shows the details ),WgaER, Notifications, Office, a db Browser.
and provides the buttons of "copy-ok-and cancel. The tab it opens to is the "Windows" tab and it shows validation info. Is this what is supposed to happen? Is this the information you need? It doesn't seem to be that is why I am asking...I just want to make sure I provide you with the correct information.
