Hi all,

I have a problem on my DEll Inspiron laptop running windows XP. Recently, my laptop was afected by malwares and started opening automatically
IE like the following links with some advertisement site and some just opens the windows once in every few minutes.

http://url.adtrgt.com/cpv.jsp?p=112140&...stingId=6981561
http://66.179.234.173/images/2619_560922_7051715.html

I have also tested with IE7pro for blocking the above IE windows but of no use. I have AVG free anti virus running on my laptop.

I have installed and scanned using spybot and ad-aware malware removal but they didn't fix the problems. Finally, I have installed and scanned my Laptop using HIJACKTHIS and got the following log file to discuss with the malware removal professionals for
further fixing the problem. Thanks to analyse my Hijackthis log and a way to fix it.

thanks,
Sara

Following is the Hijackthis log file of my laptop.

Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you.

Please download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.

Prior to running Combofix.exe you should disable your antivirus program and disconnect from the internet.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's done running it will produce a log for you. Please post that log in your next reply.

Important Note - Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
Posted Image If I have helped you in any way, please consider a donation to help me continue the fight against malware.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!

Hi Sam,

I think the problem is due to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\core.cache.dsk  . I tried to delete it but I can't . I have also
rebooted into safe mode but couldn't find the file core.cache.dsk under drivers folder. On reboot into normal mode, I can see again the
file core.cache.dsk under drivers folder .
Some discussion talks about removal of core and core.cache.dsk , DLL's, and register entries etc., But I couldn't get the exact stuff to remove
the core.cache.dsk.

Is there any free spyware or malware removal for this file core.cache.dsk ?

Thanks
Sara

You're on the right track!

Copy and paste ALL the following text in the Quote box below into Notepad.
Click on File(in the menu at the top)>Save as../Save as Type: 'All Files' /File name: CFScript to your desktop.

Driver::
ip6fww

File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\core.cache.dsk
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ip6fww.sys
Prior to running Combofix.exe you should disable your antivirus program and disconnect from the internet.

Now drag then drop the CFScript file onto ComboFix.exe as seen in the image below.

This will start ComboFix again.
After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.

Hi Sam,

I have performed the task again with ComboFix and SuperantiSpyware. But, I fasced some problems with ComboFix. It throws an error
"you cannot rename combofix as combofix please use another name". So I created a Copie de combofix.exe ( copy of combofix.exe) on the desktop.

Then when I place the CFScript.txt file over the ComboFix.exe it started working on the CFScript.txt file and I could see the
message deleting core.cache.dsk file and fixingup ip6fww.sys. After some steps like Términé 1 Terminé 2 ....Terminé 30 ...
it started rebooting the system. Before reboot it says that it can't find C:/Copie de combofix. I then, restarted the system and
i find theres no corec.cache.dsk file instead I find the combofix in the ../system32/driver folder.

In C:/Copie de combofix I could see duplicate of drivers folder files. I think its some backup files and then started scanning using
SuperAntispyware.

Here, I have attaced the logs of Hijackthis and ComboFix for your analysis. Hope this helps to analyse to status of the problem !

thanks
sara
