Hi. I am new to this forum - unfortunately prompted here by some kind of a virus. I'm still using Windows XP sp2 and I've never had a virus problem before in the six years that i've owned this computer (dimension 4500). Anyway, the old thing is still running with no known hardware problems so i'm trying to salvage it anyway i can. I was told by a dell rep to use "combofix" and that's how i wound up here. Though I am still a little confused about the combo fix logs and the hijack logs...and where to post them for advice? I've followed the steps listed in the hijack threads about scanning my computer first...it's looking pretty clean now, but Windows still runs slow and resets when not in "safe mode". I will post my log in the hijack thread and hopefully I can get some expert advice from ya'll. Thanks. (p.s. the culprit that was removed by Norton seems to be an infected iifcded.dll file.)
