Hi can anyone help please

Recently when I shutdown my computer it no longer goes to the Windows is shutting down, the logging off or the saving your settings screens. It goes straight to the Windows XP screen, hangs a while and then shuts down.
There are no errors in Event Viewer.

Are you having any other problems? When you say it "hangs" - how long does that go on?

Here's a link to a troubleshooting guide for shutdown issues: http://aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp.htm
