My Windows Live Messenger crashes a lot. I've tried to un-install, re-install but I cannot install.

Windows Live Messenger 8.1.0178.00. Whenver I try to install, the install reaches about 85% done and just stays frozen there?

Any ideas?

Running WinXP Pro, 3 GHZ, 1 Gig Ram, Plenty of HD Space.
