I installed Vista Basic on an old Dell in my Garage, scored a suprising 2.6, but anyway my prob is that is won't connect to certain websites. It uses an Airlink usb to connect to the internet. The same Dell used the wireless usb with XP with no probs. Example I can connect to the msn page but not the yahoo page, I can get on the filehippo page and download some stuff but then that certain program will not exe. I have not changed any security settings, and even reset everything to default with no luck. Any ideas ???? Just in case, the specs for the computer are 2.53 celeron D, 1 gig 3200 memory and 256mb 5200 for graphics.....

Have you ensured that you have Vista compatible drivers for the wireless USB?
Have you disabled IPv6 in the network connections properties?
Have you disabled the IP Helper service in service.msc?
Have you disabled the DHCP Broadcast Flag according to this article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928233
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

Did not have much luck with the wireless, so I ran a cable to the machine and it works fine now......Thanks for the suggestions.
