 Every time I plug in my printer( USB plug) HP deskjet 2345 I get this error message that my computer will shutdown in 56 seconds. I can't use the printer. The error says it is a problem with system32/services.exe I can use the USB ports for my Ipod and camera with no problems so it is not the USB port. This only happen when I plug in the printer. Please help thanks

Hi Linda1717, to BC!
Your printer is causing an error in Plug and Play. Are there any software or drivers that came with your printer?

Does it give you a status code when it initiates the shutdown?
Somthing to try:
  • Plug in your printer
  • When the NT Authority Shutdown starts go Start -> Run, type shutdown -a to abort
  • Right click on My computer and select "manage"
  • In the device manager find your printer, right click and select Update Driver
On second thought you probably won't be able to find the printer because Services.exe has been terminated.

Hi Linda1717,

It would be better if you responded in your thread http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/130171/n-t-authority-system-shutdown/, which deals with the same subject rather than starting a new topic. In this way, you can easily get a response from whoever gave you instructions.
