Hi all,

I have a folder with around 80,000 files in it and would like to move them to 3000 files in each new folder.

Any suggestion?

You can halt Shift and choose which file you want to move. The left panel in Explorer you'll see the number of files which you choosed.

Thanks, I understand the using of explorer.

But for 80000 files I need:
Create 27 folders.
Count 3000 files before moving over everytime.

Are there any easlier way or tool to use?

It wouldn't be too difficult to write a VBScript that would make a list of the first 3000 files in a folder, prompt for a new folder name, create the folder, and then move the files into that folder. It could probably be done as a batch file also, although I wouldn't know how to do it right off.. a Perl script, or even a simple java or c program. Piece of raisin pie, really.
