I stumbled on this toady as I was looking for some family pictures. My e drive is now a virtual drive for what program I don't remember. It thinks it's a dvd drive. I have opened all the programs & ask them to unmount this drive & nothing has. How can I return it to a logical drive? I would like to see if I do have pictures on it. Thanks

Hmm...I dont really understand the part which E is a virtual drive and it's also a dvd drive. Which is you want to return as a logical drive? Would you be kind to elaborate on this. Thanks

Some programs when you burn an image file need a virtual drive to burn to. Alcohol is one program that comes to mind. It takes the next available logical drive number, mine being "e" & makes it think it's a dvd drive. So in windows explorer my "e" logical drive where I store data has now been changed into a what it thinks is a dvd drive. So if I do a properties on it, windows looks at it & shows me it as a dvd drive. I can't access it as a logical drive anymore. I need a program that has to unmount the drive & return it to a logical drive.
