Hi All. I have a Scan jet 4370 hooked up to my computer. It worked great with my old system. Since buying this one and moving, it is total crap. The images look blurry and like they have ghosty lines across them. Text is the same way. They kind look like notebook paper. Anyone know what I should check to make this work better?

Running Acer L100 and vista ult. I have the latest SW from HP. ANy clues?

I'm not sold on the Vista drivers that HP offers for it's printing products - but this could also be an issue with the printer itself. Try the built in diagnostics to see if that'll help.

Unfortunately, there's not much being done to repair printers these days - it seems as if they're looked at as disposable items. The repairs usually cost a lot more than a new one would cost.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

If you've moved, then you might have "bumped" the mirrors and lamp "out of wack" so to speak. If this is the case, then you'll have to get it repaired, but it might be cheaper to replace it. You can get with HP to see if there is a reset, but the parts that hold the mirrors and lamp in place are non mechanical (they don't move).

If it were me, I'd try this: I'd get a new scanner (or borrow one from a friend) and install it (after completely uninstalling the old one and restarting my comp) and try a scan. If it works, then you know your scanner is dead. If not, then you know it's something else. You could also try taking your scanner to a friends house to see if it works there, and if it doesn't, then you know it's the scanner.
