Hi, thanks for the help! I'm at a stand still in what to do and near pulling my hair out lol. The back story: I decided to run a virus scan with my AVG Free Edition after updating earlier in the day.

It found 2 trojans:
Trojan horse Generic9.AHYW C:\DELL\drivers\R105155\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP\SMax4PNP.exe
-----------------same---------- C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\Core\smax4pnp.exe

I've come to the conclusion that these files have SOMETHING to do with my sound driver or something, and after my antivirus found them, i instructed it to delete them, as they couldnt be healed. Later today, maybe 30 mins ago, i attempted to log into my online game. Final Fantasy XI Online, and it crashed. It's done that twice today since the removal of the two items. Talking with a friend, we figured it might work to reinstall what was deleted. So I pulled out my driver disc and proceeded to install it, mid extraction, AVG Free Edition pops up 'THREAT FOUND' stating the 2 above locations once again and the SoundMax install wont continue with some 'copy error' with the 1st .exe location mentioned.

Doing the AVG Anti-Spyware scan, it found a worm with this log (cropped for this threat only, others very minor):

AVG Anti-Spyware - Scan Report
---------------------------------------------------------

+ Created at: 12:50:58 AM 2/6/2008

+ Scan result:

C:\DELL\drivers\R70567\shared\agent.cab/mcupdate.exe -> Worm.Bobic.cx : Cleaned with backup (quarantined).

----Should I delete this quarantined item or just leave it be?

I completed the HouseCall scan, it removed 17 items. The McAfee AVERT stinger would NOT download, it continuously stopped around 72% and wouldnt finish. I also downloaded the Sygate Personal Firewall and at every restart of my system, i received an error that it needs to close down, and then the Dr.Watson debugger errors out and shuts down. It just seems to be escalating and I dont know what else to do.

Edit: I just removed the Sygate Personal Firewall and the issue at startup went away.

Those are all the steps taken, that i could think to do, so i did the Hijackthis log as a last resort. I intend to scan with AVG AntiSpyware and AdAware 2007 again after posting this log, because I'm paranoid now lol. I'd like to know if all the measures I've taken have protected me and rid of the MALICIOUS software, of course i can deal with minor spyware because its out there, but I'd like to have a system clean of Trojans and Worms. Thank you for looking over my log and the assistance you will all give me.
